Juniors

Charnwood Sileby Ladies Juniors was formed in 2007 and caters for girls under 14yrs. They currently play in various tournaments in Leicestershire as well as friendly matches against local clubs.

Charnwood Sileby Ladies Hockey Club Juniors in the Leicester Westerleigh 7 a side Under 13 girls tournament at St Margaret’s Pastures on 14th May.

The girls were unbeaten in matches against Ashby, Belper, Burton and Cannock with goals from Poppie Chapman, Charlotte Robinson, Megan Holland and Louisa Day and some great saves by the goalkeeper Lucy Corbett.

The final match against South Leicester would decide the winner. The defence stayed strong and lots of pressure up front resulted in a great goal by Louisa Day. With the score at one all there followed a tense few minutes of play until the final whistle, but the draw was enough to secure overall victory.

All the girls played really well especially as this was only their second competitive match as a team. They all wore their winners medals with pride.

A great end to the season. 

 

Charnwood Sileby Juniors and Leicester Ladies Juniors Squad March 2011

 

 

After a friendly fixture with Charnwood Sileby's Junior Squad playing a selection of the Juniors from Leicester Ladies. They played three 20min games in which the young Charnby side gained confidence and improved as a team and individuals each time. They continued to fight well throughout the evening and pressure Leicester. Dispite not achieving a win they lessened the score with each game and nearly held on to a draw in the last match losing by only one goal.
